Parking Directions:  Proceed West on Washington Street to stop sign at Des Plaines Street.  Cross Des Plaines Street and take the driveway up to the Employee Parking Lot.  Park in any non-designated spot (one that isn’t reserved for “Employee of the Month” or “Captain of Patrol.”  Enter the front door of the Department (the door on Washington Street with all the flags in front).  Take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor and find the Community Room on your left (across from the front desk).

Presenter Bio:

Mardi Wunderlich is a Police Social Worker with the Joliet Police Department.  For the past 18 years, she has provided social work services to crime victims, juvenile status offenders, neighbor disputants, and people with mental illness.  Mardi is the Coordinator of the Joliet Police Department’s Peer Assistant Program.

Mardi obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Edgewood College, and her Master of Science Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  In addition to her license as a Clinical Social Worker, she is a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor.

Mardi’s previous work experience includes social work service at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago, Illinois from 1994 to 1997 and, prior to that, 13 years employment for the Department of Social Services in Marquette County, Wisconsin as a Juvenile Court Worker.
