Brief Description: A Recovery Community Organization has emerged as important resources for engaging and supporting community members in recovery. The program will describe how Will County Health Department launched a Joliet Recovery Community Organization to meet an unmet need.

- Describe 10 best practices of a Recovery Community Organization
- Describe the process for launching a Recovery Community Organization in your community
Speaker’s Bio: Dr. Kathleen Burke, PhD is the Coordinator of Substance Use Initiatives, Treatment & Recovery for Will County Health Department. She manages the Opioid Response Project in Will County and serves as a member of the Illinois Substance Use Prevention Task Group. Dr. Burke is a member of Governors State University Addiction Advisory Council and on the Board of Directors for Stepping Stones Treatment Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Planning and Administration from Penn State University, an MS from Rush University and a Ph.D. in Educational Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
