Topic: Living in the now: Skills to reduce negative thinking and increase effectiveness in daily life

Presenter: Stacy Lott, PsyD CADC

Objectives:

1. Understanding negative thinking patterns and their consequences in daily life.

2. Increasing knowledge of mindfulness.

3. Learning specific skills to utilize in teaching patients how to effectively use mindfulness to reduce negative thinking and increase effectiveness.

Presenter Bio:

Dr. Stacy Lott is the Executive Director of Footprints to Recovery: A Brooktree Health Services Company in Arlington Heights, IL. She leads an integrated clinical team that ensures that evidenced based interventions respond to individual needs.

Stacy has a CADC certification and has worked in the mental health and substance abuse field for over 15 years.  She received her doctorate and masters in clinical psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL.  She also studied general psychology at University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN, where she earned her M.S. in General Psychology. Stacy earned her B.A. in Sociology from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA.
